Australis Kauyeken is a 3 star hotel in Ushuaia. At the world´s southernmost city, surrounded by one of the most modern ski centers and winter sports, the wonderful of Ushuaia city and the Beagle channel, Australis Kauyeken offers to its guests the pleasure of staying in an authentic mountain hotel, with a complete SPA and restaurant specialized in meals of the Patagonia , as if you where at home. The Hotel has 48 rooms with great views. The double and triple rooms (20 to 24 square-meters) are equipped with central heating, safe-deposit box, hair dryer and minibar. The Premier Suite has 2 rooms and 2 bathrooms (one of them with Jacuzzi).

The hotel was of a moderate standard. I think it was over priced based on it's location (14 KM or 9 Miles) from the town of Ushuaia. However the setting is nice, so it depends on the travellers requirement. They offer a shuttle service to and from town a couple of times a day.. but it is inconvienent, so best if you are staying here to have your own car. A taxi costs about 30 Pesos ($10 USD) so it gets expensive if you are planning on staying there a couple of days. You may as well spend a little extra on a hotel in town and avoid the trouble. The room I was first given was horrible, I booked a queen bed, and was givin a room with 3 single beds... However they resolved that without any fuss. Also they allowed me to check in very early.
