I would highly recommend the FW to others traveling to Vancouver BC. It is right across the street from the new Vancouver Convention Center and is convenient to everything downtown. Booking through Skoosh made this a fantastic value for the money - a colleague who booked through a different service paid twice as much as I did, for the same room. Service at the FW was excellent, room was very nice (garden and pool view rather than a waterfront view - but nothing to complain about). Great value. |

Fairly standard generic business style hotel in a tourist centre. Located well for the seafront (obviously) but being in the heart of the business district it lacked the character and amenities that the city offers. Not the quietest hotel that I've stayed in (plenty of noise from other guests), comfortable and clean room though. Staff were helpful and polite/friendly. From charging for Internet access (the only hotel to do so in a two week trip that had us stay in seven different hotels) to $6.50 for a bottle of water in the room (none provided free) I came away feeling that I could have found better value elsewhere. So no big faults, just not much to write home about and expensive. Compared to the other Fairmont hotel that we stayed at (Empress in Victoria and very special) its hard to believe they are part of the same group. |

Standard hotel with all basic amenities supply but the decor and carpet need to be fashioned up in coming years if not months. I know some rooms has LCD TV but mine (low floors) has just a modest 20 inches old style CRT TV. |
