The Fairmont Waterfront

The Fairmont Waterfront
Bay view

Review by: Chan , BANGKOK, Thailand

Stayed: Apr 2013

Lower than expectation, especially the view of harbor
We have booked the room in advanced, harbor view and double beds
But they can not provide the room, as we booked, in first day, because they are full, but we booked 1 month in advanced.
So they provide the gifts to compensate instead.
The staff is friendly and take proactive action immediately to solve problems, very good staff.
The billing problem, we have 5 rooms, 2 of 5 have extra charge, such as movies, beverage but we did not take them. However, the staff agrees to take them out of the bills.
I think the system may have the problems but hotel staff solve the problems immediately, thanks for staffs

Exceeded my expectations on many levels. In particular, the Hotel staff and Yew's restaurant were most memorable. Easy access to all points downtown. Great shopping nearby. Looking forward to my return visit at Four Seasons Vancouver!

Rosedale On Robson Suite Hotel

Liked The Hotel, Not So Much The Booking Procedure

Review by: Christopher , Vancouver, Canada

Stayed: Jan 2013

A decent hotel, with typical downtown value. Good amenities with a few treadmills, pool, hot tub and wet & dry saunas. The pool/spa room could have been warmer. Room had usual micro hotel equipment kitchen unit with fridge slightly larger than most. Decent size one bedroom with micro setting area/living room. Service staff were prompt and friendly. If I were to book here again, I'd avoid booking sites and deal directly with this hotel. It serves no one to have hotels lock specific room types to be sold via an assortment of booking sites. Leaves me wondering why hotels find it necessary to resort to sharing their income. Certainly as the guest, I will want more say in the sort of accommodation I book. For 2 of us,there was no choice of floor/view or room configuration and 2 double beds were certainly not ideal for us.

The Westin Grand Vancouver

The Westin Grand Vancouver
Westin Grand - a terrific two night stay

Review by: Dave , Perth, Australia

Stayed: Dec 2012

Highly recommended hotel in a central location in Vancouver.

Slight hiccup with checking in as they didn't have our reservation in the hotel's records and the type of room we booked was for two people not four (despite us booking it via Skoosh for four). But all was resolved quickly and, although we had to pay a total of another $40 (& taxes) to get an upgraded room for the two nights, this turned out well as we got a room on the 31st floor with great views of the city and arena....we were also given free Internet too.

Would stay there again notwithstanding 1 issue

Review by: gcro , spruce grove, Canada

There was a lot to like about this hotel. Clean, quiet, well located, helpful staff and nicely appointed. The only down side was that my room smelled rather musty. Other than that, it was a very nice stay.

The Fairmont Vancouver Airport

The Fairmont Vancouver Airport

Review by: Anonymous , Madison, United States

Stayed: Jan 2007

Nice if you want hotel at the airport, very modern controls for lighting, HVAC, which can all be controlled from the nightstand. I did find the bathrooms to be not very private with 2 sets of sliding louvered doors (4 doors total). They did not offer much privacy of sight or noise, especially if you have kids with you. For a unit so modern, the bathrooms doors took away a lot of usefulness of the hotel room. The bathroom doors took it from a 5 to a 3 rating in my book. They did provide a rollaway and had it all set up in the room upon arrival.

Days Inn Vancouver Downtown

Days Inn Vancouver Downtown
Great for the price!

Review by: Doc , Oak Harbor, United States

Stayed: Aug 2012

This is not a luxury hotel to relax and enjoy being pampered. This is a place to stay for one or two nights and take advantage of its location in the city. Two blocks from the waterfront. Three blocks from light rail (Skytrain). Five blocks from either Robson Street (shopping) or Granville (clubs).
Small rooms, a little outdated, but for a weekend getaway of shopping and sightseeing, it's perfect!
I will stay there again, for sure. If you want to spend your money on shops, sightseeing, and restaurants and not on a hotel... this is the place to go.

Really nice hotel for an amazing price.

Review by: Joe , North Bay, Canada

Stayed: Apr 2012

Everything was great about the hotel, except for two problems with our stay.

Our queen bed was somewhat hard and it was a double. Also, one of the elevators was broken during our whole 3 night stay which made for some long wait times.

Aside from that a nice room with a lot of nice features. Also, the hotel gym, pool and hot tub were great!

We believe such things as Wifi should be included and not charged extra for. Also $80 for two days parking!

The Georgian Court Hotel

The Georgian Court Hotel
The Georgian Court is a really welcoming hotel

Review by: Ecoteri , Cowichan Bay, Canada

Stayed: Mar 2012

We had stayed there before, in January, and when it was time to go back to Vancouver I really wanted to stay there again. Very convenient location for us - close to chinatown, and the downtown SFU, and right beside BC Place. The room was lovely, again - we got a suite so had a separate bedroom. The couch in the main room is a bit uncomfortable, but the desk chair and other chairs were great. The bed is comfy, the hotel staff are very friendly and welcoming and helpful. My Mom stayed one night, too, and was very pleased with how she was treated. We will go back again

Met our purpose

Review by: Roxy , Coquitlam, Canada

Stayed: Jan 2012

We simply needed a room to get ready and sleep and this room served exactly this purpose. There was plenty of room to get ready and the bathroom sink was separate from the bathtub and toilet, allowing better use of the bathroom. The room was very clean, came with coffee and coffee cups, and glasses. The hotel is minutes away from Yaletown so there is no need for a taxi. I would recommend this hotel for short term stays.

Great Location!

Review by: Terrence , Chapel Hill, United States

The location was excellent and the front desk staff was very helpful. For the price, you can't beat it. There are nicer hotels, but this is the best location, overlooking English Bay and Stanley Park.

my wife and I liked the Holiday Inn Vancouver Airport

Review by: Ian Hardy , Ladysmith, Canada

Stayed: Feb 2011

We would certainly recommend this hotel as we found it to be clean, comfortable and quiet with a nice restaurant attached , Foggs and Suds if I remember correctly. Front desk staff quite helpful. We liked the very comfortable beds and the hotel did meet our expectations.
We usually avoid paying more than $100 a night and we were lucky enough to score a discounted price this particular night so it was good value for the money.

Great Service

Review by: Marjolijn from Kitim , Kitimat, Canada

Stayed: May 2008

We arrived at 9.00 am returning from Mexico, not expecting to have a room ready, but we checked it out anyway. The front desk found us a room, so we could unload all our luggage. We were impressed. we have recommended this hotel to several of our friends, who have used it as well and agreed with us. Our expectations were definitely exceeded on this particular stay. We will continue using this hotel on our trips to Vancouver as well as stopovers to other places.

Quality Hotel Vancouver - Inn at False Creek

Quality Hotel Vancouver - Inn at False Creek
Clean but lower standard and noisy

Review by: Sebs , Waldsee, Germany

Stayed: Jun 2011

All in all I would recommend the hotel for people that absolutely want to stay in the downtown area, are willing to pay a premium for the location and don't expect a high standard. Rooms are clean, staff is knowleadgable. Lacking serivce .e.g in the bar. When we went there, they would not accept a group of 6 people for a night cap 10 minutes prior to their closing time. Also, rooms are very noisy. If you close the windows, then the AC compensates for the street noise.
