The room was good - quite spacious and comfortable, and clean (and well cleaned each day).
Internet access was free and was by an in-room wired modem, which I preferred to wi-fi: no need to deal with logins, and no issue with a variable signal strength depending on the time of day (as I have seen at other hotels). The internet speed was fast.
The food at the restaurants was good: I had a good breakfast most days at the Moxie's downstairs and had good steaks & burgers at the Shark sports bar on several evenings, while watching a variety of games on the numerous screens (definitely more atmosphere than at most hotel bars).
Hotel parking was good - parking for guests was behind a shuttered gate - you needed to swipe your room key to open the gate. Foot access to the car park was from a lift within the hotel. The car park was well lit and appeared to be secure & safe, and was only $8.85/day so relatively cheap.
Local phone calls were free and long distance calls (judging from my bill) started at about $1.95 per call, which is clearly above cost, but didn't strike me as ridiculous.
It was a little odd that there was just one phone in the room and it was positioned at a table next to the window. To use it at the desk (or bed) you had to stretch its (long) cable to wherever you were. Putting a phone at the desk & bedside table is so standard (and convenient), it struck me as quite strange.
They have an automated screen check-in within the hotel so (for Air Canada definitely, and possibly for other Star Alliance airlines) you can get your boarding pass and seat before leaving the hotel. That saved me a lot of time at the airport since it allowed me to go to the web check-in desk to drop off my bags, without having to queue.
There was no in-room safe - which I would have preferred. Instead I had to leave things in the reception safe.
My biggest complaint is that people calling me in the hotel had to wait to get put through, and if you called the reception from the room, you also had to wait until someone at reception could speak to you. The longest wait was - on one occasion - 6 minutes, which is not acceptable and not at all consistent with the hotel's standards in other areas.
I thought it was good value for money and, apart from the delay in answering the phone, I would recommend the hotel.
