We had a great experience at the Golden Tulip. The staff was friendly, informative as well as accomodating and the room was clean, comfortable and functional. When we arrived we were greated with friendliness at reception and check-in went smoothly. I inquired about parking, an extra 15 euro per day normally, and was told that it was available but on weekends street parking was free and generally easy and they even helped find a good spot for us. Breakfast was pleasant with a nice variety of breads, meats, cheeses and fruit. I was running the Vienna half-marathon and the staff allowed us to go ahead and check out in the morning but return later, just after noon time, and use a shower before departing.

These little things the staff did along with the clean comfortable invironment made our stay excellent and a great value.

The hotel is smaller than it looks from the on-line brochure. The bar is disappointingly small. The bedrooms are nicely refurbished and comfortable but did not provide enough pillows nor was there any tea/coffee making in the room. When I enquired about this at reception it was made for me to take to the room but I was chrged for it. The staff are very helpful. The bathroom is rather basic but the shower was powerful. Breakfast was a large buffet but with only one domestic toaster there could be quite a wait to get bread toatsed. The location is excellent with easy access to subway trains. I stayed for 2 nights and it was very good value for money but I could not say it would be comfortable for stays of longer than one week.

We stayed in a triple room in the Golden Tulip Wien City in December 2007. The room was very clean and the rates were very reasonable. The hotel is located just slightly out of the city centre, but it was very easy to get around as it was close to the U-bahn station and Westbahnhof train station.

The Golden Tulip is located 5 min walk from the Westbanhof station. This made it very convenient for us as we were doing a number of train trips in and out of Vienna. The hotel staff were very helpful and the room was well comfortable. We had one of the units on the top floor so we had access to a private terrace... a nice extra in the middle of the city. Nice place, I'd recommend it to others.

BTW, I've included Skoosh in all my Europe hotel searches. You folks have some good finds. A lot better than Expedia!!
