The Tulip Inn Papageno Vienna is a good standard three-star-hotel, built in 1920, and reflects the atmosphere of an Old Vienna residence with its typical architecture. Rooms are on 5 floors of the building; there's a lift to give you easy access, with 5 small steps to go up before you reach the lift.
Each room is decorated in the traditional viennese style, with either stylish herringbone patterned wood flooring or carpets in the room. Each has an en-suite bathroom with hairdryer, and double doors and windows to reduce the noise. Rooms on the interior courtyard of the hotel are the quietest. They all feature satellite TV, direct dial telephone, plenty of hanging space for your clothes, and warm duvets.
Within easy walking distance of the famous Wiener Ringstraße and the Vienna State Opera, the Papageno allows you to visit easily the cultural, social and business centre of Vienna. A tram into the Karlsplatz goes from just outside the door, from where you have many forms of transport available to you - trams, buses, and 3 UBahn lines. Or you can walk up the grand Kaerntner Strasse with its departments stores, past the Opera House, up to the Stephansdom in the heart of the first district.
Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 am as a buffet with Viennese specialities such as freshly baked Kipferl (croissants), eggs, yoghurts and jams, many types of breads, cereals, tea and coffee. The breakfast room is light and airy, with a huge backdrop of modern art behind the buffet table. The brightness is achieved by a glass ceiling, clean white walls, and modern simple furnishings.
The hotel staff are friendly and eager to help with your theatre, concert and opera tickets, sightseeing tours, laundry service, babysitting etc. There is an internet station in the lobby and hotel bar free of charge to hotel guests.
