The property is located at 15 E street NW, close to the US Capitol, senate and House Office buildings, US Supreme Court, Library of Congress, and Folder Shakespeare Library. A deluxe hotel on Capitol Hill, it is a block from Union Station and Metro and a short stroll to The National Mall with Smithsonian museums and the National Gallery Of Art. It is also an easy walk to the Newsmen, International Spy Museum, Convention Center, MCI Center, and Penn Quarter Galleries and Shops

The property is an 8 story building structure constructed in 1928. The hotel re-opened in 1998 after a complete renovation. The facade was completely refashioned with the two story windows that are surrounded by neutral-toned limestone and augmented by a stainless steel canopy reminiscent of a theater marquee.

Guest entering the hotel lobby encounter a two story interior space consisting of white coral walls and a patterned floor of ceramic tile with black granite inlays. Above a custom-designed chrome and glass topped table hangs a chandelier, a companion to the original that is part of the permanent collection at museum of Modern Art. The sofas and chairs are part of the permanent collection were designed by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld in 1935. The front desk topped with black granite contrast an upholstered wall of red leather.

The cool beige and cream color scheme of the guest rooms provide the backdrop for custom designed furnishings, lending a residential feel to the interior. Beds are complete with a cashmere throw. Most of the spacious marble bathrooms come with a separate tub and shower. Amenities include high speed internet access, WIFI, luxurious animal print robes, bath products and in room coffee maker on request.
