The hotel is located in the heart of Washington's business and shopping districts and four blocks from the White house. The hotel is just one half block from the nearest metro station and a short walk to museums and national monuments. National airport is only 15 minutes away. The hotel is an excellent property. The hotel is a 10 story traditional looking hotel built in 1925. The Executive rooms offer 564 square feet and feature a separate sitting area from the bedroom that are large and lavishly decorated in a traditional federal style yet with all the modern amenities. There is custom designed furniture and a marble foyer in each guest room. The hotel has an award winning restaurant, featuring Mediterranean cuisine. The hotel's bar and lounge is considered one of the city's most prominent spots. Here, a warm, English-club atmosphere is an inviting setting for enjoying light dining and evening piano entertainment. The lobby is very large and very elegant. Decorated with opulent gilded ceilings, imported Italian marble and carved millwork. 2 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, 2 minute walk to the nearest metro station (farragut north), 8 kms to the nearest airport (ronald reagan national), Close to the station (union station).

The hotel is beautiful, conveniently located, and has a wonderful staff. It is my favorite place to stay when in the nation's capitol.

OMG..Nightclub Across the Street was SO LOUD

We had a 4th floor room that is, apparently, directly across from a nightclub. The music was SO LOUD it reverberated through our bodies, making sleep impossible. Furthermore, the music, along with the disorderly and drunk patrons loitering outside, did not stop until 3am. It's very disappointing as the hotel itself is old-world beautiful, and the rooms were lovely.

Furniture old and stained

The building seemed below standards for a Renaissance. We were shown three rooms, all of which had stained upholstered furniture, dirty rugs, and a musty odor. We were finally offered a suite as a free upgrade--this had different furniture which was more acceptable and allowed us access to the executive lounge (free breakfast). While the price was reasonable, I would not risk having to stay in a musty room again.

The Mayflower was amazing!

I highly recommend this hotel. It is beautiful, very comfortable and a big part of the history of D.C. Our stay here added quite a touch of luxury to our trip!

This was our third stay at the Mayflower and we will continue to stay here on our visits to DC. Our son is a student at George Washington, so we find ourselves in the city at least once a year and we love it!
