I recommend the L'Enfant Plaza Hotel is a great place to stay, the only item I would have liked was to have internet access in my room for no additional charge. Seems a bit odd to pay $11 for a days access to the internet in DC at a 4 star hotel that one is already paying a relatively large amount of money to. Other than that it was a good value. All expectations were met except for the pool as it was not working either and there was no compensation for this. The pool was one of the reasons we stayed.

The hotel was located above a metro station and a block from the Smithsonian, but the service level was very poor. The person at the coffee stand got my rather simple order wrong every day. We were unable to check in even a few minutes early despite having requested to do just that and having been caught in a horrible downpour. We were scolded for napping in the lobby while we were waiting for a room.

Perfect location for seeing the sites on the mall and getting on the Metro. Only 2 stops to Nationals Park. Only stayed one night - room was fine, nothing great, but comfortable. Construction was going on from 4 pm - 8pm. Annoying, but I was not really in the room for long. Not near restaurants or night life, but great for what I came to see (sites and baseball.)

The L'Enfant hotel has an excellent location. Just two blocks from the D.C. mall and the Smithsonian museums. It is particularly useful if you have business with the DOE. The rooms were neat and clean and comfortable. The A/C worked well and wasn't too noisy -- better than most hotels but still loud and bit drafty. The hotel is part of a 15-story office/shops complex occupying only the top 3 floors so it fills up fast sometimes. They have an outdoor pool on the roof. The water is not heated and it is only open between 10am and 8pm; not the most convenient. Exercise room is very nice. Shops are only open during business hours so the shopping area is rather ghostly at night and on the weekends. Buried below the complex is the L'Enfant metro station so this hotel is extremely easy to around D.C. from the hotel.

the hotel is in walking distance of everything and located on the most convenient metro stop. I saved a lot of money through skoosh and would book through them for this hotel again.
