Phoenix Park Hotel -
Renovated recently at a cost of 3 million dollars, this hotel enjoys facilities such as the inviting sleep packages including high quality mattresses, pillows and bedding. The guest rooms offer guests a retreat into tranquillity and relaxation - a hotel room which feels like a home from home, but which is all the same fitted out with the amenities one would expect of a luxury hotel. In the centre of Irish hospitality in America, this hotel combines Celtic charm with a unique location on Capitol Hill. The historical Phoenix Park radiates the aura and elegance of an 18th century country mansion.

The cosy lobby with its glossy wooden fittings, beautiful rugs, original oil paintings and marble staircase is packed with European ambiance and modern facilities. Previously known as the ""Commodore"" this hotel has been attracting ttheists, business people, diplomats and lobbyists since 1922. The 9-storey air-conditioned city hotel offers a total of 149 rooms. The hotel's facilities include a lobby with a reception desk manned around the clock, a hotel safe, lift access, a café, a bar, a pub, a restaurant, Internet access (charges apply), room and laundry services (charges apply) and parking for those arriving by car (for an additional fee).

Our room was very clean and beautifully decorated. However, It was also VERY small (even by D.C. standards) and had a moldy, stuffy atmosphere.

Yes, we would most definitely reccommend the Phoenix Park Hotel to others. We were very impressed with our room and the amenities. Our only dissappointment was the lack of hot water for our showers in the morning. Both of us had to take luke-warm (almost cold) showers and that was a big turn off. The price we paid was an execptionally good value especially, in Washington, D.C.

Stayed: Jul 2008

Customer Rating:

This hotel was really gorgeous, old-fashioned and very romantic. It was exactly what my partner and I were looking for for a romantic night in D.C. It's not at all like the cookie cutter hotels like a Holiday Inn or Hilton where they all look the same. Definitely would stay there again and recommend it to people who are looking for something unique and memorable. The restaurant and bar on the first floor is wonderful, too. I left a sweater in the room and have been having troubles getting it returned, but all in all it was definitely a great stay.

Would definately recmmend to others. Great rate for a hotel in this location and of this quality. Good Irish bar for drinks and meals attached to the hotel.
The hotel offers parking at $30 per day, but you can park in the Union Station, which is 5 minutes walk away for $19 per day.
