Prices around $100 +/- can be found for this hotel. Safe location with underground parking & a large pool. The rooms seem to be redone w/ nice linens. Not particularly spacious, but comfortable. Hotel breakfasts are expensive, but there's an Au Bon Pair (sp?) a block away that the staff was nice enough to tell us about. A 15 min walk to the Mall, or a couple of blocks to the nearest Metro. We also enjoyed Tuscan West for dinner. Nice selection of Italian, can do fancier dishes, or brick oven pizza quite reasonably, good service, too. May have been on I Street? across the street from a park.

this was my 2nd time at the washington plaza hotel. the first i had a renovated room and all was great. this time i had an older room and it needed work. the bed was fine but the furniture was old and decrepit. the bathroom was acceptable but it was just a shower stall no tub. i would have to say it was not a good value for what i paid although there was a convention in town that was impacting room rates in the area i needed to be in. the location was very good and the rate for parking was good.

Everything just worked well at the hotel, and everything was fairly priced (e.g., poolside food). Room was very large and in pretty good shape, some parts of carpet burned away, but otherwise great.

My family enjoyed our stay at Washington Plaza. Kids love the pool. A very convenience location to various attractions without having to take Metro. In addition, it allows easy access to various eating places/restaurants (from Quizno to sitting down nice eating restaurant). If we get to visit DC again, we will consider to stay in Washington Plaza again.

I stayed here in August 2001, and now April 2008. The hotel has a great location and this time we had beautiful view over looking Thomas Circle from the seventh floor.

It is currently under badly needed renovations; basically everything is painted with flat white paint, which I imagine will be changed. The bathroom had a yellow toilet and tub with ugly yellow/orange tiles. The carpet was badly worn (holes) and multi-colores stripes (reminded me of something from Austin Powers).

The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel was full the night we stayed, so the renovations aren't stopping anyone. The price was high, but reasonable for Washington DC and the location. They had trouble locating our reservation which worried me, but (oddly) it turned out it was listed in my son's name and not mine.

I do recommend this hotel.
